THE PROBLEM

Most sustainable sports equipment is either lower quality or significantly more expensive. This creates a trade-off between performance, affordability and sustainability — particularly at grassroots level.
As a result, organisations often choose between durability, cost and environmental impact, with limited options that balance all three

Starting with sports bibs and footballs, with plans to expand into other areas of sports equipment over time. Our aim is to improve durability and increase recycled material use without introducing cost barriers to participation.
We're also researching lower-petroleum materials including plant-based PU, recycled synthetics, bio-based foams and algae-derived materials
FOUNDER BIO
Luis Alfred Sattler
Luis founded Sattler Sports from a lifelong connection to football and a growing awareness of the environmental impact of sports equipment.
Raised in the UK with an English and Brazilian background, he has played across multiple formats and levels.
Through studies in Environmental Science at the University of Reading, alongside experience in manufacturing, operations and logistics, he developed a focus on performance, efficiency and material impact.
The idea for Sattler Sports came from a simple observation: much of the equipment used in grassroots sport wears out quickly and is frequently replaced, creating both financial and environmental cost.
Sattler was created to offer a better balance — improving durability and incorporating more responsible materials without pushing cost out of reach for grassroots sport, groups, clubs and community organisations that rely on affordable yet high quality equipment.
